Can a Software Update Suffice?
For weeks, New iPad users have been rambling about some major and minor issues about the newest Apple tablet. And one of the major ones is the onslaught of reports regarding the Wi-Fi connectivity. Since the iPad is a portable device, it can only maximize its potential if there is wireless internet connection. But before you all fret about your New iPad, hear me out first.
People should be relieved now that a news report reveals that the Wi-Fi issue is actually a fixable problem. The issue is not a hardware problem and it can be solved via a download of a software update. That means selling iPad now is not a necessary thing to do.
Aaron Vronko, a tech analyst and a repair expert says that Apple is recommending people to reset their Wi-Fi to factory defaults as a remedy for the major gripe affecting a large mass of the iPad population. This only implies that the problem is not centered on the gadget’s hardware; instead it is related to the device’s power-saving feature.
As a matter of fact, some experts agree with Vronko, and according to them, the newest Apple tablet has a Broadcom BCM433o chip that runs the Wi-Fi and the Bluetooth. That chip, that is a newbie in the iPad’s anatomy, is also seen in the iPhone 4S which was released October last year.
“[The Broadcom BCM4330 chip] boasts a new design including several new power-saving features,” said Vronko. “Wi-Fi can be a hungry customer in mobile devices and Apple knew that the new LCD and its requisite monster truck GPU would be guzzling battery juice. They had to go aggressive on performance per milliwatt on every other component.”
“If Apple’s software is to blame, the issue could be relatively easy to patch. That said, Apple hasn’t yet publicly acknowledged any problems with the new iPad’s Wi-Fi performance; however, the company has reportedly accepted exchanges for iPads with Wi-Fi problems. Without confirmation about what’s going on, we’re going to have to wait to see how Apple responds before we know for sure. [Comptuterworld]”
But if you think the recommendation isn’t worthy enough to allay your iPad woes, I suggest you find the best place to sell iPad and get cash for that device.
